Thinking about a possible change of direction into the wonderful world of Floristry, or are you a hobby flower arranger who would like to gain a deeper understanding and knowledge? This workshop series might be just the thing for you!

Designed to provide both underpinning theoretical knowledge and practical hands on skills, during this 5 week course you will explore designs from 3 of the main areas of commercial Floristry – Events (including Wedding), Gift work and Sympathy. These workshops are suitable for complete beginners with no experience, as well as students with prior knowledge.

We will cover the selection of flower and plant material, care and storage, and design principles, and you will have plenty of hands on experience. In order to minimize the cost of the course, we may reuse flowers for more than one design, but there will be at least one design to take home after each session.

Students are encouraged to bring a camera and notebook. These classes will be accompanied by handouts.

‘I would like to thank you for the wonderful Introduction to Floristry course that you recently ran. I enjoyed every minute of it and have learned so much from you. It has inspired me to enrol at college to do a Level 2 City and Guilds in Floristry. All the arrangements we made were beautiful as were the gorgeous flowers we used in them. A final thank you for the wonderful home made cakes we had with our coffee each week. ’  (Nina - Spring 2019)

‘Not only did I thoroughly enjoy attending the Introduction to Floristry workshop, I learned so much. The course covered a huge amount and it was taught in a relaxed and encouraging manner. Claire has a wealth of experience and gave great insight into the Floristry world. She created such a warm atmosphere and her workshop set up is fabulous. I would thoroughly recommend attending any of Claire’s courses, it is a joy’. (Jane - Spring 2019).

‘Thank you for such a wonderful Introduction to Floristry course. I loved every minute of it. Your teaching was brilliant. You passed on your knowledge in such an encouraging and informative way and nothing was too much trouble. I’m amazed by how much we covered and will really miss my Thursday morning flower fix!’ (Fiona - Spring 2019)

‘I thoroughly enjoyed your Introduction to Floristry course. Your teaching inspired and encouraged us all to produce brilliant arrangements and to understand essential techniques. A relaxed and friendly atmosphere with superb home made cakes!’ (Nan - Spring 2019)

“I would highly recommend this beautiful bespoke Introduction to floristry course. Claire took the time to explore our hopes and expectations of the course and ensured that we each felt we had an input into what we created throughout.  Each class was spot on regarding choice of flowers, colours, style of arrangements and ways of displaying them. We gained confidence quickly and Claire encouraged us to use our own imagination and flair.   Lastly Claire really went out of her way to make sure everything was of the highest standard, met our requirements and the entire course was delivered in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Thoroughly recommended!”
